Lewis and Clark --the proof they were here. Our last real stop before home.

You can't travel across the west without finding multiple Lewis and Clark interpretive centers, or places like this where they discovered Clark's signature carved into a rock where Native Americans engraved figures of animals, etc.

Hard to believe that people loaded their gear and paddled down the river in these tubs made out of buffalo hide and sticks...but it worked.

There was a volunteer docent who stood out in the heat, way up on the rock to talk to people who came to see the signature.  Leo hadn't gotten out here yet and this guy thought I really needed a picture of myself looking at the signature.  Love the historians who are willing to volunteer their time to enlighten the tourists.
