As we moved into Vermont we happened to camp on Isle La Motte which is an island in Lake Champlain that has the oldest known coral reef on Earth. It was pretty amazing to walk around this old farm that had many, many huge rocks imbedded with all kinds of fossils of prehistoric creatures. Like much of New England, Vermont has many covered bridges and it's biggest tourist attraction is Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream factory. While we saw Babe the Blue Ox and Paul Bunyan in Minnesota last year, Maine is not going to be denied their own claim to them. Saturday, August 21, 2010
From Michigan we move on into Canada, up toward Montreal, into Vermont and then Maine.
