From Ann Arbor, Michigan we visited Milan, Michigan where we had dinner with our old friend Phil Barnes who was the Elementary Ass't Principal and High School Athletic Director. We had a great time catching up on all the people who we started working with as we began our married life.
From Milan we moved on to Fort Wayne, Indiana where we spend a couple of days with our niece Jill Bonin's family of 4 kids, one husband, one exchange student and a menagerie of dogs, goats, chickens, etc. etc. While it rained most of the time, we did get the opportunity to take a hike in the nearby woods where Leo spied this baby snake on the trail. Parker was willing to pick it up for a closer look. It seemed that every bike trip we took in Muskegon , we would see garter snakes on the trail (we think it was just cold enough outside to make the black top of the bike trail feel warm). Aunt Linda has biked all the trails all summer long and had never seen a snake and she thought we were the ones that must attract them. We had to take this picture of her grandson Parker to show her that Michigan didn't have the corner on snakes. We had a great Korean dinner with the Bonin family and really enjoyed spending time with them.
