Crossing the Mackinac Bridge
From the upper penninsula we crossed the Mackinac Bridge (longest single span bridge in the world crossing 4 miles of water) into the "Mitten." While we have been to Mackinaw City many times in our life, this is the first time we bought and ate a "Pasties" ( like an English calzone --apparently originated as something wives of miners made for their men to take wrapped in newspaper for a hot lunch) which is seen advertised everywhere. While the weather was cold and rainy, the beauty of the water and sands of Lake Michigan conjured up lots of great memories.
