Cape Bonavista

Moving from Twillingate to Bonavista takes us through the first National Park Tera Nova.  Unfortunately the weather was really cold, windy and rainy and consequently we didn't spend as much time in the area as we might have if the weather had been better.  It really is a beautiful area.

Terra Nova National Park was created in 1957 and was the first National Park in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Arriving in Bona Vista

The Whipping Post
In 1754 Bonavista had an institution known as the "Whipping Post" where lawless people were punished as an example to others at that time.

It was really hard to capture just how steep, jagged and powerful this cliff area is.

Who knew the Robert Louis Stevenson name would pop up on a remote coast in Newfoundland?
