St. Johns Newfoundland

View from the restaurant

We had more than one person tell us that St Phillips in Portugal Cove "By the Beach" restaurant had the best fish and chips they had ever had...so of course we had to find this restaurant before we went into St Johns.  The waves were crashing over the wall and the wind was blowing, the small restaurant packed and the fish was delicious!
St Johns is a colorful, interesting city. They have a great park right in the city -- Piddy Park.  We pitched our tent and then headed out to explore the city. The weather was cold, the people friendly and helpful and we found a shop that sold only Scottish items...a fun place to get out of the weather.

The harbor in St. Johns.  We found a great Starbucks...one of just a few in Newfoundland...that overlooked the harbor and gave us a nice warm place and a nice warm drink when we came in out of the cold.
More exploring the city.  We loved the colorful streets.
The owner of this house really felt the need to distinguish his house from all the ones it was connected to.  Sweet.
And is this Elvis...in St Johns Newfoundland?
