Jan 23 village in Siem Reap near Angkor Wat

We stopped at a village after leaving some temple ruins. Our guide explained how they made palm sugar by climbing the palm tree in the evening and cutting a part of the tree and attaching a bamboo or plastic water bottle to catch the fluid that dripped out all night. They then retrieved it in the morning and the women boiled it down and packed in the little rounds to sell. The families live in one room houses that are up on stilts. The animals seek shade under the houses.
